Dr. Eric Afoakwah – Our Founder & CEO
Dr. Eric Afoakwah, Founder of Quality Assurance Partners & Consultants (QAPC), brings over a decade of experience fostering strategic partnerships across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. He is a recognized expert in Clinical Quality Assurance (CQA), Quality Management Systems (QMS), Risk-Based Methodology (RBM), Inspection Readiness, and GxP Advisory.
Throughout his career, Dr. Afoakwah has led the development and optimization of global QA programs that strengthen compliance frameworks and drive inspection readiness. As the former Head of Quality Assurance at Immunocore, he oversaw the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of QA operations across sites in Oxford (UK), Rockville (MD), and Conshohocken (PA). His experience includes key roles at AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), CRISPR Therapeutics, as well as Executive and Senior Consulting positions for private life-sciences firms in New York, NY and Bethesda, MD.
Dr. Afoakwah earned his Ph.D. in Biology from Howard University, specializing in cellular and molecular parasitology. His doctoral research explored the subcellular mechanisms by which Plasmodium falciparum invades red blood cells during malaria infection. Dr. Afoakwah completed his work under the mentorship of Professor Winston A. Anderson, recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring (White House, 2011).
